PAPER-CRAFT BUYING GUIDE

How to choose scrapbook paper for your next collection

Start with the project, then compare the paper format, pattern scale, printed sides and pack contents. This checklist helps craft shops, creative brands and makers choose an existing collection or prepare a custom brief.

1. Match the sheet size to the project

A 12 × 12 inch sheet gives you space for full scrapbook layouts and can also be trimmed into smaller panels. For cards, journal inserts and tags, plan the finished dimensions before cutting. Check whether a large illustration still works after trimming; an all-over pattern is usually easier to divide into smaller pieces.

Our current paper range uses a 12 × 12 inch format. Check each product’s specifications instead of assuming that every paper collection uses the same weight or finish.

2. Compare the printed sides, not just the cover

Double-sided paper provides a printed design on each side, but only one side is visible when a sheet is glued flat. Plan which side you want to show and whether you need another sheet for the reverse design. Sheet count, pattern count and the number of repeats are different measurements: a 24-sheet pack does not automatically mean 48 unique designs.

Open the product gallery and choose the exact design variant before ordering. The cover and SKU help distinguish related colour collections.

3. Choose a visual style that supports the project

4. Check paper weight and tool compatibility

Gsm describes paper weight per unit area, not its exact thickness or stiffness. Coatings, fibres and construction can affect folding, cutting and printing. If a project depends on scoring, a cutting machine or a paper punch, test the intended stock first. Do not assume a heavier sheet will work in every tool.

The 1.5 inch hexagon paper punch is listed for 100–200gsm paper. Stay within the stated product specification and test a small offcut before processing a full batch.

5. Count packs and units before checking out

A paper product with 24 sheets is sold as a pack; the cart quantity is the number of packs, not individual sheets. For example, 20 packs of a 24-sheet product contain 480 sheets. A tool listed as one punch per pack is a different unit and should not be counted as paper sheets.

Current physical products have a minimum order of 20 units per design. To order several designs, select one design and quantity, add it to the cart, then repeat for each additional design. Review every line in the cart before payment.

6. Separate existing products from custom production

Existing products have their own listed specifications and purchase options. A custom collection requires a separate brief covering dimensions, paper, artwork, sheet mix, quantity, finishing and packaging. A shop price is not a quotation for a new custom design.

For custom production, prepare your artwork or reference, intended use, target quantity and delivery country. Review the custom product formats and development process before requesting a quotation. Sampling, shipping and production schedules must be confirmed for the specific project.
